How will the CLIA updates affect billing of laboratory procedures? Did you know that CLIA has addressed the monitoring of medical necessity as a part of the pre-analytic phase of testing. In this MedLearn audio seminar, presenter Robin Zweifel, BS MT (ASCP) will review topics that will not only improve your laboratory practice but will also help to enhance your billing practice.

Highlights of this seminar include:

  • Be familiar with the personnel requirements for front end staff as they will be part of the CLIA survey within the next year
  • How the pre-analytic phase affect the billing of laboratory procedures
  • Understanding the link between OIG compliance, CMS guidelines for "reasonable and necessary" and CLIA
  • How to improve audit protocols by meeting the CLIA requirements for record retention
