Audio Conference on CD-ROM with Conference Materials

If your organization is like most health and managed care organizations, there were few existing policies that readily met HIPAA requirements as spelled out in the regulations.

But, policies and procedures surrounding patient privacy and confidentiality and information security are the foundation of your organization's program of HIPAA implementation and compliance.

Your organization's system-wide policies and procedures dealing with HIPAA are required under the law.

Under § 164.530, the regulation's administrative requirements, a "covered entity must implement policies and procedures with respect to protected health information that are designed to comply with the standards, implementation specifications, or other requirements" of the HIPAA regulations. "The policies and procedures must be reasonably designed, taking into account the size of and the type of activities that relate to protected health information undertaken by the covered entity, to ensure such compliance," the rules state.

To help you insure that your organization meets the policy and procedure requirements of the HIPAA regulations, a special audio conference, "Developing Your Organization's HIPAA Policies and Procedures Under the Final HIPAA Rules," has been recorded on CD-ROM.

Even if you are reasonably confident that your organization's policies and procedures are now in or will be compliant with the regulation's requirements, it may make good business sense to listen in to make sure your P&P's are consistent with HIPAA mandates.

And, because every organization is unique, there are no "cookie-cutter" models that you can rely on to help you deal with covered entity requirements.

SPECIAL AUDIO CONFERENCE:

"Developing Your Organization's HIPAA Policies and Procedures Under the Final HIPAA Rules," sponsored by HIPAA Bulletin for Management

"Developing Your Organization's HIPAA Policies and Procedures Under the Final HIPAA Rules" makes it easy for you to gather your key executives or management team for this recorded conference. The presentations focus on what your organization should be doing now.

The goal of this special presentation is to provide help in meeting HIPAA policy and procedure requirements.

SPEAKERS:

  • Stephen Bernstein, Esq., McDermott, Will & Emery
  • Miriam Paramore, president and CEO, Paramore Consulting, Inc.

PROGRAM AGENDA:

Among the topics the speakers cover during the program are:

  • Update on Status of HIPAA and its Implementing Regulations
  • Organizing Your HIPAA Policy and Procedure Implementation
  • Policies and Procedures Documentation: Why It Matters and How It Can Be Done Cost Effectively
  • Educating and Training Your Staff on Your Own Policies and Procedures
  • What you need to consider in the development of privacy policies and procedures
  • How each department that deals with PHI must create the procedures on who uses such information
  • What changes, if any, you may need to make to your existing policies and procedures to make them HIPAA compliant

Managed care executives, health insurance plan executives, hospitals and other health care organizations need to know what is required in developing or maintaining their policies and procedures to be HIPAA compliant.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THE CD-ROM:
CEOs, COOs, CIOs, privacy officers, vice presidents, HIPAA compliance officers, operations executives, HIPAA task force members, executive directors, team leaders, planners, business development, product managers, sales executives and marketers, knowledge managers and strategic and implementation consultants, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, clearinghouses, physician practice management company executives, medical device manufacturers, and healthcare technology companies.
