Angel Hoffman, RN, MSN
Angel Hoffman is the Director of Corporate Compliance and the HIPAA Program Office at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a large integrated health care system in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Hoffman is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of all aspects of HIPAA, including Privacy, EDI and Security. Ms. Hoffman has presented multiple HIPAA sessions including several National HIPAA Summits a presentation for the International Association of Privacy Professionals and multiple local presentations.
Ms. Hoffman is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau, Nursing Honor Society and a charter member of the Theta Mu Chapter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the AAPC. She was also formerly a member of the Legal Nurse Consultants and APIC Chapters in Pittsburgh.
Leigh-Ann Patterson, Esq.
Leigh-Ann Patterson, Esq., a partner in the Litigation and Health Care Groups, focuses her practice on pharmaceutical litigation, medical privacy litigation, and HIPAA and regulatory compliance for companies in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology industries.
Ms. Patterson founded Nixon Peabody’s HIPAA Task Force in 2001 and advises health care organizations and major pharmaceutical companies on HIPAA compliance, as well as litigation risk management. She has experience in business transactions, regulatory compliance and clinical trials.
Ms. Patterson was the 2001-2002 President of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts. She serves on the Boston Bar Association’s HIPAA Pre-emption Task Force which prepared
the Massachusetts Pre-emption Analysis Report.
