Healthcare Report Cards: How To Get an A+ in the Public Reporting of Healthcare Quality Data, a June 7, 2006 audio conference on CD-ROM, examines why healthcare providers and payors are choosing to publicly rate their quality performance, how they've structured their quality report cards and the impact that this can have on a healthcare organization's business.

With the advent of consumer-driven healthcare plans, more health plans and hospitals are publishing quality and performance ratings on their web site. While the public reporting of healthcare quality data is voluntary, more and more organizations are making this data available and some believe it is just a matter of time before it is mandatory.

During this 90-minute audio conference on CD-ROM, your expert panel of speakers, Paul L. Green, director, clinical quality improvement, John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital and Christine Profita Orok, project leader of cost and quality at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, will provide inside information on why organizations should consider publicly posting performance data and the steps to take to launch public report cards.

You will get details on:

  • Evaluating the types of healthcare quality data to post;
  • Analyzing the impact that posting healthcare report cards can have on your organization;
  • Overcoming the roadblocks to report card implementation;
  • Getting consumers to use the information; and
  • Lessons learned from making report cards publicly available.

Here's what participants said about the live audio conference:

"I learned practical tips for collecting the data {quality rating}," according to Lynn Ford-Somna, director, evaluator and service quality with Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.

"The materials for this conference were well thought out. The information was very useful in gaining market status among national participants," according to Birdie Chow, director for Advocate Health Partners.

"This conference had pertinent, useful and detailed information," according to Roberta Zysman, executive director with Beth Israel Deaconess Physician Organization.

"It was very helpful to hear what others are doing in this area, both at health plans and health insurers," according to an assistant general counsel with a Midwest Blues Plan.

You can "attend" this program right in your office and enjoy significant savings – no travel time or hassle; no hotel expenses. It’s so convenient! Invite your staff members to listen in.
