Description

Each year, healthcare executives rely on the strategic advice they receive during the annual Healthcare Trends & Forecasts webinar sponsored by the Healthcare Intelligence Network.

This annual, must-attend event provides a first look analysis at the key trends and opportunities for healthcare organizations in the coming year. With unprecedented economic conditions continuing to impact the industry, new healthcare payment and delivery options available for healthcare providers and the ongoing implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, healthcare organizations have much to monitor in the year ahead.

Listen to pre-conference comments from Steven Valentine.

This year's session, Healthcare Trends in 2012: A Strategic Industry Forecast, a 45-minute webinar on November 2, 2011, now available for replay, features Steven Valentine, president, The Camden Group.

Now in its eighth year of providing healthcare executives with a look ahead to help shape strategic plans, this year's program covered:

  • How the economic environment is continuing to impact the healthcare industry, in terms of the unemployment rate, the uninsured and underinsured, access to credit and soft volume for healthcare services;
  • How healthcare organizations can prepare for the health reform changes required in 2012;
  • The critical healthcare industry developments to monitor;
  • How ACOs, bundled payments and efforts to bend the cost curve will impact the industry in the year ahead;
  • How the consolidation of hospitals and medical groups is impacting the industry;
  • The impact of the 2012 presidential election on the healthcare system;
  • What healthcare opportunities exist and what actions are needed by healthcare organizations to have a successful 2012; and
  • much, much more!

Don't miss this year's program for the valuable insight and guidance your organization needs to help position for success in 2012.

ABOUT OUR PANELIST:

Steven Valentine
The initial ACO rule put forth earlier this year by CMS was 'politically correct' but not designed to manage healthcare costs and resources.

Steven T. Valentine, M.P.A., is president of The Camden Group, a national healthcare management consulting company with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Rochester, N.Y. With more than 30 years of healthcare consulting experience, he has considerable expertise in the areas of strategic planning, business transactions, mergers, hospital-physician relationships, and financial analysis.

Valentine was the issue editor and an early pioneer on hospital turnarounds (topics in HealthCare Financing: Financially Troubled Hospitals). He is a nationally recognized author and speaker on healthcare issues. Valentine is often quoted in Modern Healthcare, Los Angeles Times, and HealthLeaders, as well as other publications. He is frequently invited to present his assessment of the industry trends and its future outlook.

Valentine has directed numerous strategic planning and merger engagements for a wide variety of healthcare organizations. He is a recognized facilitator of hospital board, medical staff, and management retreats and is on the editorial board of two publications and a panel expert on another. Valentine sits on the board and chairs the Audit Committee of HealthCare Partners, Ltd., a MSO with approximately $2.2 billion in revenue. Additionally, Valentine serves on the Program Advisory Board at the USC School of Policy, Planning and Development, serves on the executive committee and chairs the finance committee of partners in Care Foundation, serves on the advisory boards of Alliance Imaging, Inc. and Gerson Lehrman Groups Council of Healthcare Advisors.

Prior to joining The Camden Group, Valentine was an engagement executive in Ernst & Young's Health Care Business Advisory Group. His previous experience included senior positions at Amherst Associates, Pacific Health Resources, National Medical Enterprises, and the Health Systems Agency of San Diego and Imperial Counties. He was selected by California Medicine as one of California's top 100 most influential people in the healthcare field, and he also received a similar honor for Los Angeles County from the Los Angeles Business Journal. Valentine was honored with the USC Health Services Administration Alumni Association Distinguished Graduate Award.

Valentine received a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a health services administration certificate from the Ernst & Young Management program with the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
