ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:

David Chenoweth, Ph.D., FAWHP

In 1979, David Chenoweth created Chenoweth & Associates, Inc., a worksite health and productivity management consulting firm with subspecialties in econometric data analysis and program evaluation.

One of the driving forces behind the firm stems from his dissertation on prospective medicine and health risk appraisal (HRA). Using principles from various fields economics, health education, epidemiology, and risk management Chenoweth developed the analytical tool known as Proportionate Risk Factor Cost Appraisal (PRFCA). The PRFCA calculates the financial cost of population-specific risk factors in an organizational and/or community setting.

In addition, Chenoweth & Associates provides other customized econometric analyses including break-even analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, forecasting, and benefit-cost appraisal.

In April 2005, Chenoweth & Associates served as the primary author of the recently-conducted cost analysis of obesity and physical inactivity in the State of California; this topline report is available at www.ca5aday.com

Earlier this year, Chenoweth served as the chief econometric analyst in creating the well-publicized physical inactivity cost calc tool for the Leadership for Active Living - a project funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The cost calc is available at www.activelivingleadership.org.

In 2003, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts retained the firm to conduct an economic cost analysis of eight major risk factors; earlier in the year, the State of Michigan hired the firm to conduct an economic cost analysis of physical inactivity.

Margaret Frucci

Margaret Frucci is the human resource manager at Ocean Medical Center, part of Meridian Health System.

Frucci has brought many creative and innovative programs to the employees at Ocean Medical Center including Commit to Get Fit, Fit to Win and, has run many successful events.

In 1984 Frucci joined Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital as a technical recruiter. In 1986 Frucci began her career at Meridian as a professional recruiter for Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, N.J. She was quickly promoted to nurse recruiter and then again as manager of employment.

Jersey Shore University Medical Center merged with two other hospitals in 1997 and became Meridian Health System.

Frucci graduated from Caldwell College, New Jersey, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Psychology. Frucci has been nationally certified as a senior professional in human resources since 1996 and is also a certified facilitator for Coaching for Performance, 360 Degree Feedback and Root Learning.

Aaron M. Hardy

Aaron M. Hardy is the wellness coordinator for the Washoe County School District. The program he currently coordinates has received numerous national recognitions including exposure at the first and second Steps to a HealthierUS Summits in 2003 and 2004 and the 2001 Outstanding Program of the Year Award from the Public Risk Management Association.

Hardy began his wellness career in 1993 by losing over 100 lbs of unhealthy weight through proper nutrition and physical activity. He now is the president and founder of Integrated Health & Wellness, which provides organizations with bimonthly or quarterly online behavior change programs and methods to secure funding for wellness efforts.

Hardy earned a Bachelor's Degree in physical Education at Brigham Young University in 1997 and went on to receive his Master’s in Health Promotion in 2000.
