Personal Health Records: Taking the First Step Toward an Electronic Medical Record, a December 14, 2005 audio
conference on CD-ROM, examines case studies of organizations that have implemented electronic personal health records (PHRs), from pilot projects to full roll-outs.
The American Health Information Community, a 17-member group charged with advising the federal government on ways to spur IT
adoption in healthcare, examines the potential for PHRs as one of its first projects. And, the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also is investigating what role it could play in encouraging PHR adoption.
Healthcare payors and providers are stepping up efforts toward electronic medical records -- and many times, the PHR is the
first step in the process.
During this 90-minute audio conference on CD-ROM, your expert panel of speakers, Dr. Holly Miller, managing director,
e-Cleveland Clinic and Nancy Griest, vice president of medical group services and chief information officer, Brown &
Toland Medical Group, provide inside details on the PHR projects at their organizations.
You will get details on:
- Developing the business case for a PHR;
- Implementing PHRs;
- Integrating PHRs with legacy systems;
- Conducting case management functions through the PHR; and
- Evaluating in-house development or outsourcing PHRs -- making the right choice.
