Providing Healthcare 24/7: How Consumer-Driven Health Plans and Population Health Management are Meeting the Needs of Healthcare Consumerism, a September 21, 2005 audio conference on CD-ROM, examines the tools that organizations need to provide to fully engage consumers in consumer-driven healthcare plans.

The combination of web technology with clinical and telephonic resources are helping consumers to select high-quality providers, understand the cost of services, measure their health risks, manage chronic disease and become fully engaged healthcare consumers.

During this 90-minute audio conference on CD-ROM, your expert panel of speakers, Hugh H. Lytle, president, Axia Health Management, and Dr. Darren M. Schulte, director of clinical affairs and analytics, Resolution Health, Inc., provide you with details on how these tools can be integrated to serve the needs of the "new healthcare consumer" 24 hours a day/seven days a week. You will get details on:

  • Integrating telephonic and web-based applications;
  • Driving adoption of tools;
  • Providing the right tools to the right consumers to control costs; and
  • Engaging consumers through consumer-driven healthcare plans.

You can "attend" this program right in your office and enjoy significant savings – no travel time or hassle; no hotel expenses. It’s so convenient! Invite your staff members to participate.

ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:

Hugh H. Lytle

Hugh H. Lytle is the president of AXIA Health Management, LLC, a national healthcare services company headquartered in Tempe, Ariz. AXIA is a leading population health management company whose focus is to improve the health of individuals in specific populations segments, through high yield prevention and health management programs designed to reduce, delay, or prevent chronic disease and disability.

With over 18 years of experience in leading healthcare and technology companies, Lytle has a broad range of healthcare knowledge and operating experience. He is a former executive with AdvancePCS (now Caremark). At AdvancePCS Lytle led initiatives for transaction processing, clinical integration, specialty pharmaceuticals, international development, and medical informatics. From 2002 to 2004 Lytle served as a Corporate Development officer for the company, focused on sourcing and transaction support for the company’s mergers and acquisitions effort.

Earlier in Lytle’s career he held technology and development positions with Xerox Corporation and Computer Associates. He successfully achieved "President Club" designations for sales performance with Xerox.

In 1998 Lytle received his B.A. from the University of Indianapolis, and in 1995 completed his M.B.A. at Butler University.

Darren M. Schulte, M.D., M.P.P.

Dr. Darren M. Schulte is the director of clinical affairs and analytics at Resolution Health Inc. Resolution Health processes health plan administrative claims data through its proprietary Rules Engine and develops actionable steps that can be taken by providers, purchasers, and patients to improve healthcare quality and reduce healthcare costs.

Dr. Schulte has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He is a former resident physician with the University of California. At the University of California Medical Center Dr. Schulte worked as a physician on staff where he supervised and trained the medical staff. He also researched, developed and wrote a cost-benefit analysis for the California State Assembly to determine the efficacy of a proposed state mandate that health insurance agencies cover osteoporosis screening for California women aged 50 to 65 years. In addition, Dr. Schulte developed a model to assess the cost-effectiveness of using serum beta-natriuretic peptide to diagnose heart failure among elderly patients who present to the emergency department with acute dyspnea of unclear etiology. This decision analytic model enables improved use of hospital resources resulting in substantial savings and lower patient morbidity through appropriate triage and treatment strategies.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Schulte held a research assistant position at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In this capacity he collaborated with faculty on several research projects to determine how specific government policies affect social and economic welfare.

In 1993, he received his B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1996 completed his Master of Public Policy at John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and in 2002 he received his Doctor of Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine.
