Dr. Stuart Levine

Dr. Stuart Levine is the corporate medical director for HealthCare Partners Medical Group since 2006. In this role, he is involved in most of the clinical activities of the medical group, with special focus on initiatives that include care management redesign and the care of the high risk, frail and senior patient, new clinical programs, HCC/P4P programs and mergers and acquisition/business development.
Dr. Levine is also an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine at University of California, Los Angeles, David Geffen School of Medicine and is the director of behavioral health for the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Marys Medical Center - UCLA Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Levine is in the California Health Care Foundation fellowship Cohort 7 and is a principal investigator for the IMPACT and CALM Studies in collaborative care between behavioral health and primary care.
Previously, Dr. Levine worked at SCAN from 1997 until 2006 as the medical director.
Dr. Levine held a full-time faculty position at Los Angeles County University of Southern California (LAC-USC) in consultation liaison psychiatry prior to entering private practice. Dr. Levine later became the CEO of PsychCare Alliance, a behavioral health medical group
Dr. Levine graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook, N.Y., in 1975 with a degree in bioecology. He went on to complete his masters degree in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University in 1978. He worked in various administrative roles from 1976 until 1981 including that of assistant administrator at University of California, San Francisco Hospitals and Clinics and University of Chicago Medical Center.
Dr. Levine graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago Medical School in 1985. He did an internship in internal medicine and pediatrics at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California (LAC+USC) Medical Center. Dr. Levine completed a residency at University of California, Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute (UCLA-NPI) in 1989 in psychiatry and specialized in consultation liaison psychiatry for which he was chief resident.
